While every project is unique, these are some basic steps you can expect from our creative process.
Once we decide on a meeting, our first step is to review the creative brief prepared for the project. If a brief has not been developed we take this time to listen to the project objectives and understand the goals at hand. We follow this segment up with questions to make sure we understand as much as we can before developing creative solutions for the project. If the brief has changed during the meeting we will send an email outlining the objectives to make sure we are on the same page.
Back in the studio, we sharpen our pencils and get to work, exploring different creative avenues to find the best solution for the project. Once the ideas are distilled, and we have a clear concept, we deliver the creative for review. Sometimes, its love at first sight. Other times client feedback helps refine the following concepts. But in the end, we come out of this step with an idea of what direction we are headed in and we begin the production.
Photographers are hired, print is scheduled and production is in full swing. During this phase, we break down the production schedule into milestones to give opportunity to deliver the project at several stages. Responsibility is usually divided between the client and DCD by content and creative. The client is responsible for content. We are responsible for the using the content to create the communication solutions to meet the objectives.
One last review is made before the publication of the project. This is the time to review all the last details and make sure everything is right and the various persons sign-off with their approval. Once everyone has a chance to sign-off, giving their approval, the project moves to publication.
While the project is in this stage, final files are archived, and the project is wrapped. Print product is delivered. Web sites are deployed. And last but not least, invoices are generated.
After the project is complete, we check in to see how the communication materials are performing. Receiving feedback from the various stakeholders, we get a good idea what aspects really performed well and which ones we can fine tune to reach our audience even better.
